BIRKENSTOCK
Known and respected worldwide for its incredibly comfortable, anatomically correct sandals, shoes, and clogs, Birkenstock footwear is designed specifically to "mimic the shape of the healthy human foot." The original Birkenstock shoes were developed in Germany in 1897 by shoemaker Konrad Birkenstock. By 1966, Californian Margot Fraser discovered the shoes while vacationing in Germany, and began to import them into the United States. Within a decade, Birkenstocks became just as well known and trusted in America, where the brand continues to be an icon of absolutely comfortable footwear.
