The master shoemakers of Mephisto create what the company proudly calls the “finest walking shoes,” with styles for city walking, including women’s slip-on flats, loafers, and Mary Janes, and men’s options including lace-up Oxford styles and slip-on moccasins and loafers; leisure shoes including lace-ups and slip-ons in casual and athletic styles; sport shoes for golf and outdoor, hunting, and boating pursuits; and a wide range of sandals. All Mephisto shoes are designed with a wealth of such comfort features as shock absorbers, air-cushion soles, ventilation and freshness elements, and arch supports, with every aspect aiming to make walking an absolute pleasure.
Martin Michaeli established Mephisto in Sarrebourg, France in 1965. He brought the brand to North America in 1987, completing its expansion into a globally respected brand. Michaeli and his children continue to run Mephisto, committed as ever to making what many consider the world’s best walking shoes.
