Carolina strives to provide men and women with the best work boots and work shoes available, holding a history of standard-setting in safety and protection going all the way back to 1963. Some of the original committee members who developed the recognized ANSI safety shoe standards now represent Carolina footwear. Together, the Carolina footwear company introduced the use of “Opanka” hand-sewn construction for industrial use and led in the development of electro-static dissipative (ESD) footwear. Carolina work boots continue to ensure excellent protection, incorporating patented constructions into their designs such as Ultra Welt™, Pillow Cushion™, DRYZ®, Gel Cell™, and more.
