Men’s footwear from Ben Sherman bear all the distinctive hallmarks of one of Great Britain’s most iconic fashion brands, whether sleek yet relaxed tasseled loafers, ankle boots or lace-ups with subtle yet unmistakable Mod detailing, or relaxed “trainer” athletic shoes in smart slip-on canvas or lace-up leather designs. Shirt manufacturer Arthur Bernard Sugarman launched the Ben Sherman brand in the southeastern England seaside city of Brighton back in 1963, and the label soon gained acclaim both for introducing the Oxford button-down men’s shirt and for its simple, eye-catching logo: the target-shaped, red-white-and-blue “roundel” of the British Royal Air Force, which also came to be known as the “Mod target” after the style trendsetters of that era. Trendsetters continue to gravitate to Ben Sherman’s fashions, not least the company’s line of shoes that combine classic English styling and quality with up-to-the-minute flair.
